Lassig Brothers Construction has been a cornerstone of foundation repair and house moving services since 1934. Founded by Herman and Harry Lassig, the company began its journey by moving houses and building stone basements underneath existing homes before modern block companies existed in Rhinelander. The Lassig Brothers used innovative techniques for the time, including steel dollies, long before rubber tire dollies were available. Their expertise extended throughout the Northwoods and even up into Michigan.
In 1971, Martin Berger, a skilled union Mason from Milwaukee, joined the company. He started working with the Lassig Brothers in the mid-70s. When Harry retired, Martin purchased his half of the business and partnered with Herman until Herman's passing in 1989. Martin continued the legacy of excellence until his retirement in 2010, when his son, Karl Berger, took over daily operations.
